The exposure to tree swallow nestlings to air-borne oil sands-related contaminants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is assessed using passive air samplers. Measures of avian health are examined in relation to location of sampling and contaminants measured. Des nichoirs d'Hirondelle bicolore (Tachycineta bicolor) sont installés dans la région des sables bitumineux et dans des sites de référence pour surveiller les concentrations de contaminants et leurs incidences sur les oisillons de cette espèce. L'exposition des oisillons à des contaminants atmosphériques liés à l'exploitation des sables bitumineux, tels les hydrocarbures aromatiques polycycliques, est évaluée au moyen d'échantillonneurs d'air passifs.
