Im Rahmen von fünf Forschungsfahrten der BGR in den Jahren 1996 bis 2007 wurden seismische Messungen in der deutschen AWZ durchgeführt. Das Ziel der Fahrten war eine detaillierte Untersuchung der geologischen Struktur des Untergrundes von Nord- und Ostsee.
