The feature classes of this product delineate polygonal building footprints automatically extracted from airborne Lidar data, high-resolution optical imagery or other sources. The first feature class, Automatically Extracted Buildings by acquisition source, contains building footprints delivered according to the spatial extent of each source dataset used for extraction. When the spatial extents of acquisition sources overlap, footprints for the same building may therefore be duplicated in this class. The second feature class, Optimized Buildings Layer, is an assembled and harmonized layer derived from the buildings by acquisition source. Its objective is to provide a unique representation of each building footprint by removing duplicates and resolving overlaps between sources. « Bâtiments extraits automatiquement » est un produit numérique brut en format vectoriel créé par RNCan. Les entités de ce produit représentent des empreintes polygonales de bâtiments extraites automatiquement à partir de données Lidar aéroportées, d’imagerie optique haute résolution ou d’autres sources. Le produit est livré en deux classes d’entités distinctes. La classe de bâtiments extraits automatiquement par source d’acquisition et la classe optimisée de bâtiments. La première classe est livrée selon le découpage de la source utilisée pour extraire les entités. Lorsque les limites géospatiales des sources se chevauchent, les empreintes des mêmes bâtiments sont donc dupliquées. La deuxième classe, la couche optimisée de bâtiments est un assemblage des bâtiments de la classe de bâtiments par source d’acquisition.
