The projects focus on integrating oceanography, food web linkages, physical-biological couplings and spatial and inter-annual variability, within the context of ongoing climate-driven change including enhanced Ocean Acidification. Sampling was conducted from the F/V Frosti at stations along transects spanning 20-1000 m. Zooplankton was collected using a bongo or multi-net system in conjunction with oceanographic and biogeochemical sampling. Le Programme d’évaluation environnementale régionale de Beaufort – Projet sur les poissons marins (2012-2014) et le Programme d’évaluation des écosystèmes marins de la mer de Beaufort au Canada (ÉÉM-MBC, 2017-présent) menés par Pêches et Océans Canada permettent de réaliser des relevés en mer des poissons et des écosystèmes marins sur le plateau et le talus de la partie canadienne de la mer de Beaufort en août et au début septembre. Les projets sont axés sur l’intégration de l’océanographie, les liens entre les réseaux alimentaires, les couplages physiques et biologiques et les variabilités spatiales et interannuelles, dans le contexte des changements en cours induits par le climat, y compris l’acidification accrue des océans. L’échantillonnage a été effectué à partir du navire de pêche Frosti à des stations le long de transects s’étendant de 20 à 1 000 m. On a collecté le zooplancton à l’aide d’un système de filets de type Bongo ou de filets multiples en conjonction avec un échantillonnage océanographique et biogéochimique. Pelagic sea snails, Limacina helicina, are an indicator species for the study of Ocean Acidification. Limacina helicina abundance and biomass data is presented from 2012-2017 for Mackenzie Shelf and Amundsen Gulf locations in the western Canadian Arctic. Shell dissolution extent is described for pteropod shells collected in the Amundsen Gulf in 2014 and 2017.
