Individual preferred and maximum avoidance temperatures were significantly reduced in hypoxia compared to normoxia. Standard metabolic rate increased with temperature and body mass. Patterns of projected habitat change suggest the spatial extent of the current distribution of Carmine shiner would shift north with global warming. The physiology and habitat requirements of the species are not well understood. Subsequently, we studied the Carmine Shiner using different conservation physiology and modelling approaches. La méné carminée (Notropis percobromus) est un cyprinidé menacé dont l'aire de répartition est limitée au Canada et qui n'existe que dans quelques tributaires du bassin versant de la rivière Winnipeg dans le sud du Manitoba. La physiologie et les exigences de l'habitat de l'espèce ne sont pas bien comprises.
