This Planning Map for Public EV Charging Infrastructure identifies priority areas and accounts for available charging infrastructure and expected charging needs with a focus on public corridor charging. To optimize web performance when using the map, it is recommended you zoom into the areas you are exploring. Priority areas are identified on a scale ranging from lowest to highest priority. Public Corridor Charging includes the EV charging needs of those travelling longer distances on highways and major roads. The objective is to ensure that EV drivers can travel over the majority of Canada’s road network connecting most communities in an EV without being limited on vehicle range. The map identifies priority locations within 1.6 kilometres of major roads based on criteria such as, traffic, expected EV adoption and distance between chargers Le Programme d'infrastructure pour les véhicules à émission zéro (PIVEZ) vise à remédier au manque d'infrastructure de recharge au Canada, l'un des principaux obstacles à l'adoption des véhicules à émission zéro, en augmentant la disponibilité de la recharge localisée là où les Canadiens vivent, travaillent, se déplacent et se divertissent. Cette Carte de planification pour l’infrastructure de recharge publique pour les VÉ identifie les zones prioritaires et tient compte de l’infrastructure de recharge existante et les besoins de recharge prévus, en mettant l'accent sur la recharge dans les couloirs publics. Pour optimiser les performances web lors de l'utilisation de la carte, il est recommandé d’agrandir les zones que vous souhaitez explorer. Les zones prioritaires sont identifiées sur une échelle allant de la priorité la plus faible à la plus élevée. La recharge publique le long des corridors répond aux besoins de recharge des VÉ des personnes qui parcourent de longues distances sur les autoroutes et les grands axes routiers. L'objectif est de faire en sorte que les conducteurs de VÉ puissent parcourir la majeure partie du réseau routier canadien reliant la plupart des communautés au moyen d'un VÉ sans être limités par l'autonomie du véhicule.
