Located on the street: The neighborhoods of Montreal
This dataset provides access to the digitized fascicles from the Pignon sur rue collection: *The neighborhoods of Montréal*, and locates the territories covered by each of them.
It includes links to the notices and to the 1991 reissues of the issues, digitized by the Archives de Montréal, with the kind permission of the publisher Guérin literature. The Archives notice on the collection is available on their [website] (https://archivesdemontreal.ica-atom.org/pignon-sur-rue-les-quartiers-de-montreal-1991).
These references on Montreal heritage are available to everyone under license [CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 Attribution - Non-commercial use - Sharing under the same conditions 4.0 International] (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/deed.fr). Some usage restrictions apply to scanned files (non-commercial use only).
The data in these documents correspond to the state of knowledge at the time of their publication and have not been updated since then. The territory covered corresponds to that of the City of Montreal before the municipal mergers of 2002.
The collection is signed by Michèle Benoît and Roger Gratton and was created under an agreement between the City of Montreal and the Quebec Ministry of Cultural Affairs on the enhancement of Old Montreal and Montreal's heritage. Originally published in the 1980s, it was republished in 1991 in the form of fascicles and a bound book.
Pignon sur rue summarizes and makes accessible the results of the Macro-Inventory of Montreal neighborhoods, produced between 1978 and 1985. The analysis of this Macro-inventory is fully digitized and accessible online via the [BAnQ collections] (https://numerique.banq.qc.ca/patrimoine/details/52327/4352544) and partially via the [Archives de Montréal] site (https://archivesdemontreal.ica-atom.org/macro-inventaire-1978-1985), which also offers numerous photographs produced as part of this work.
This dataset is the result of a collaboration between the Inventory Section of the Heritage Division of the City of Montreal, the City of Montreal Archives, and the Department of Strategic Planning, Performance and Innovation, with the authorization of Guérin Litterature, publisher of the 1991 reissue of the issues.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
