Aineisto on koottu IRS P6 ja SPOT-4 satelliittikuvista, jotka on kuvattu vuosina 2005 ja 2006 pääasiassa heinä-elokuussa.

Aineistossa vesialueet ja puuttuvan tiedon alueet erottuvat lähes mustina, sulkeutuneet havumetsät tumman vihreinä, lehtimetsät ja kasvipeitteiset peltomaat kirkkaan vihreinä ja niukkakasvipeitteiset alueet punaiset eri sävyinä.
