- Purpose
- The purpose of the dataset is to support planning, design and implementation of ground source heat pump systems under Danish geological conditions. The dataset contributes to improved understanding of variations in thermal properties, optimisation of system design, and protection of groundwater and the environment.

- The dataset is based on compilation and scientific assessment of geological, hydrogeological, geophysical and thermal data from the GeoEnergy project and national data sources, including Jupiter and GERDA. The dataset may be used with appropriate attribution. It represents a planning and assessment basis for shallow geothermal energy and ground source heating systems and is not sufficient as a stand-alone basis for local project design, regulatory approval or final dimensioning of specific installations.

- Supplemental Information
- The dataset was produced as part of the GeoEnergy project’s work on shallow geothermal energy and ground source heating systems under Danish geological conditions. It represents a scientific and planning basis for assessing thermal properties, geological conditions and hydrogeological considerations related to the use of borehole heat exchangers and heat pumps. Local ground source heating projects require additional site-specific investigations, including assessment of boreholes, groundwater conditions, thermal properties and relevant environmental and regulatory requirements.

- Statement
- The dataset has been developed through collection, integration and analysis of existing borehole data, temperature measurements and geophysical data from national databases, including Jupiter and GERDA. Measurement programmes for geothermal gradients and thermal properties of Danish sediments have been conducted, along with modelling of heat and groundwater flow. Results have been integrated into GIS-based planning tools for ground source heating systems and quality assured through the research activities of the GeoEnergy project.
