Service to 9-1-1 emergency centers
__9-1-1 service (cellular coverage) __
The purpose of this information layer is to notify users about telephone respondents for 9-1-1 emergency communications. It indicates areas where cellular devices can be used, and identifies the emergency communications center that will be reached during a 9-1-1 cellular call.
__Servicing emergency communications center agreements using an administrative emergency number (10 digits) __
The purpose of this information layer is to notify users about telephone respondents during 9-1-1 emergency calls with a 10-digit number. It indicates the emergency communications center that answers a call made using a satellite or wired telephone for areas that do not have cellular coverage or 9-1-1, and where the user must dial a 10-digit administrative emergency number.
Information for both layers is captured and updated by the 9-1-1 and Emergency Telecommunications Directorate of the Ministry of Homeland Security.
___Precision:__ The layers of 9-1-1 Service and Service Agreements are complementary. 9-1-1 Service is based on the municipal administrative boundaries at which cellular coverage has intersected. Conversely, the Service of Agreements is based on the municipal administrative boundaries from which cellular coverage has been subtracted in order to represent areas that do not have 9-1-1 coverage and therefore require the use of a ten-digit administrative emergency number. _**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
