The map service incorporates submarine slides. Slides are presented as polygons in addition to boundaries of the slides. The data has been compiled from several sources, with differing details. The main source for the slides on the Norwegian continental shelf is the Seabed project (Norwegian Deepwater Programme, Seabed project Phase II. Mid-to Late Cenozoic Geomodel of the Mid-Norwegian Continental Margin. Atlas volume (Report no. SP2-02-FS-01R-00003-04); By Fugro Survey Ltd., BGS, NGU). Tjenesten viser inndeling av norske havområder i ulike marine landskap. Marine landskap er definert som større geografiske havbunnsområder med enhetlig visuelt preg. Havbunnen er delt inn i ti landskapsklasser ved hjelp av en GIS-basert metode som benytter lavoppløselige dybdedata og parametere som kan hentes ut direkte fra disse. Landskapsinndelingen er basert på NiN-klassifikasjon.

Karttjenesten viser en rekke tematiske kartlag utledet av detaljert basiskunnskap om havbunnen: dybde og sedimenter. Følgende tema er visualisert; Dybdeforhold, Bratte skråninger og flat fjordbunn (helning), Bunntyper (kornstørrelse), Ankringsforhold, Gravbarhet, Bunnfellingsområder og Naturtyper.
