The boundaries are established from either Land Claims Final Agreement, Self Government Agreement, Memorandum of Understanding, Local Advisory Area, or from a signed document between Yukon Government and First Nation. An Order in Council is prepared and the new boundary comes into effect. Older LAP's and Community Plans were approved by YG Minister and Cabinet as a policy document. Newer plans are approved in the same manner which also include First Nation resolution by Chief and Council Some of these contain a Future Land Use Plan or Land Use Plan with area designations.
