The Kentucky Geological Survey (KGS), as part of the United States Geoscience Information Network (USGIN), provides a compilation of geologic maps from the NGCMP-09 database (http://ngcmp.usgs.gov/) covering the United States of America including Hawaii and Alaska. This Service was published by the KGS as part of the USGIN initiative to “create and facilitate discovery and access to geoscience information provided by state and federal geological surveys of the United States”. These data were compiled by the Kentucky Geological Survey. Four (4) layers included in this service are as follows: 1. US-KY_KGS_24K_Geologic_Age is a compilation dataset containing geologic units covering the Commonwealth of Kentucky at 1:24,000 scale. The data table includes geologic name, description, lithology, and geologic history. The data in this layer is portrayed based on geologic age; 2. US-KY_KGS_24K_Lithology is a compilation dataset containing geologic units covering the Commonwealth of Kentucky at 1:24,000 scale. The table includes geologic name, description, lithology, and geologic history. The data in this layer is portrayed based on lithology; 3. US-KY_KGS_24K_Contacts is a compilation dataset containing geologic contacts covering the Commonwealth of Kentucky at a scale of 1:24,000. The table includes contact type, positional accuracy and generic symbolizer (FGDC). Citations are included in the data set. 4. US-KY_KGS_24K_Faults is a compilation dataset containing shear displacement structures covering the Commonwealth of Kentucky at a scale of 1:24,000. The table includes fault type, positional accuracy, and generic symbolizer (FGDC). Citations are included in the dataset.

This dataset is produced for the Government of Alberta and is available to the general public. The National Topographic System of Canada (NTS) is a national mapping reference grid defined by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) that is based on degrees of latitude and longitude. Starting at the Prime Meridian and at the Equator, the 1:50 000 grid is formed by intersecting every 1/8 degree of the meridians with every 1/4 degrees of parallels. It is also true that the standard 1:20 000 NTS block is broken down into 4 1:20 000 blocks that are labelled by quadrant. Each polygon in the grid is designated with a two digit number. a single letter. two additional numbers and a two letter quadrant value (Example 83H08NE). The 1:20 000 NTS grid was developed to support the Provincial Digital Base Mapping Project and is not part of the formal NRCan NTS program. The province of Alberta is covered by 2838 complete and 269 partially complete 1:20 000 NTS blocks.

The province of Alberta is covered by 670 complete and 131 partially complete 1:50 000 NTS blocks.

The USGS US Topo Availability service from The National Map consists of footprints where US Topo products are currently available. Various green tints are used to reflect the year in which US Topo map products have been published. The service is updated daily and contains the same data used in footprints in the Map Locator & Downloader application program interface used in the USGS Store (http://store.usgs.gov). In addition to access through The National Map download client (http://viewer.nationalmap.gov/basic), US Topo products and other USGS publications are available through the USGS Store. The USGS Map Indices service from The National Map (TNM) consists of 1x1 Degree, 30x60 Minute (100K), 15 Minute (63K), 7.5 Minute (24K), and 3.75 Minute grid polygons used in The National Map viewer for reference and to download data. At 1:24,000-scale (24K), the standard map size is 7.5 minutes of latitude by 7.5 minutes of longitude. At 1:100,000-scale (100K), the standard map size is 30 minutes of latitude by 60 minutes of longitude. The National Map viewer allows free download of public domain USGS map indices data in Esri File Geodatabase format.
