    Morel mushroom areas are derived from the previous years forest fire areas. Recently burned areas are most likely to produce mushrooms the following spring. Managing mushroom harvesting areas considers other land uses, for example, all private land, territorial parks and first nation lands have been removed from the morel mushroom areas. This data will be updated annually and will only contain polygons from the previous fire year. Please refer to the Fire History dataset for historic fire locations .
