The Alberta Provincial Boundary dataset is a polygon that represents the bounding limits of the Province of Alberta as of February 2007. This version of the boundary has been superseded by the ATS v4.1 Alberta Provincial Boundary, published April 2010.

This dataset comprises all of the feature classes in the Alberta Provincial Electoral Divisions profiles. This data is derived from the Census of Canada and the National Household Survey from Statistics Canada from 2011 and 2016. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product.

The Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent the Wildlife Management Units in Alberta. WMU is an area of wildlife managed under Wildlife Act, Alberta Regulation 143/79.

This dataset consolidates all available AVI into a single feature class.This dataset is produced for the Government of Alberta and is available to the general public.

The data in this information product illustrates the boundaries of Alberta's 87 Provincial Electoral Divisions. Electoral Boundaries are defined by the Alberta Election Act, Chapter E-1, 2018. Provincial Electoral Divisions (PEDs) are territorial units represented by an elected Member to serve in the Alberta Provincial Legislative Assembly. The Provincial Electoral Divisions used in this information product were enacted in December 2017 and came into effect for the 2019 provincial general election.

The Central Parkland Vegetation Inventory (CPVI) Polygons is a dataset that was created to capture vegetation information for the Central (Aspen) Parkland Natural Subregion in Alberta. The Parkland Natural Region covers approximately 10% of the province and acts as a broad transitional area between the dry grasslands and the moist boreal forest. This region is characterized by productive soils, moisture levels and climatic conditions conducive to agriculture. The vegetation cover is a mosaic of aspen woodlands, wetlands, fescue grassland and riparian areas. The Central Parkland Natural Subregion is located in east-central Alberta. Other parkland subregions are located in the Foothills and the Peace River areas. The Central Parkland Vegetation Inventory (CPVI) Polygons is designed to be a vegetation / land use database for the Central Parkland Natural Subregion.

Alberta Environment and Protected Areas Operations Regions were approved and effective May 29, 2013.

The purpose of this dataset is to identify areas harvested after the date of the inventory. The Forest Stewardship and Trade Branch is responsible for the creation and maintenance of these boundaries for Crown-managed Forest Management Units. This dataset is produced for the Government of Alberta and is available to the general public.
