Get mapping data related to the Northwest Greater Toronto Area Transmission Corridor Identification Study. In June 2019, the Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines along with Ontario’s electricity system planner, the Independent Electricity System Operator, launched the Northwest GTA Transmission Corridor Identification Study to identify an appropriate corridor of land for use by future power lines if and when the need arises.

This data covers the entire Far North from 2005-2011. The data is provided in both grid and vector formats. It is broken into layers that cover UTM zones 15, 16 and 17. Layers representing each level of the classification hierarchy described in the data specs have been provided: * class * group * section Can be used to create a consistent map to meet regional - to landscape level analysis (1:100,000).

This spatial dataset represents the boundaries of the areas of responsibility for aggregate inspectors working on behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. In southern Ontario, inspectors may use various criteria to determine their area of responsibility, including: * geographic township boundaries * the number of licences and permits in a given area * geographic size In northern Ontario, areas of responsibility generally follow MNRF district boundaries. Most of these events involved community evacuations, significant structural loss and/or involvement of a Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Emergency Response Officer. Events include those assigned to MNR by an Order-In-Council under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act as well as events where MNR provided requested emergency response assistance. This dataset covers Forest Resource Inventories between 2001 and 2004. It includes: * stand regeneration * harvested trees * trees lost to wildfire, insects, disease or wind damage Information from forest resource inventories provides the basis for major forest resource planning and ministry policy decisions.

Data show where pathogens - fungal, bacillial or viral - have caused damage by reducing growth rates, tree vigor or have killed trees. Examples of forest diseases include White Pine Blister Rust, Armillaria Root Rot etc. The Government of Ontario tracks forest damage events to help proactively manage the detrimental effects to our forests. We monitor the threat and spread of invasive forest pest insect species in Ontario. The data is also important to the Forest Management Planning process in calculating timber volume loss within affected areas.
